HR Competency Study Results

PROVO, Utah — In the largest global study ever on human resource professionals, researchers from the RBL Group and the University of Michigan Ross School of Business found that HR managers play an integral role in the overall effectiveness of a company's performance.

The 2012 Human Resource Competency Study, using data from more than 20,000 respondents around the world, identified six areas in which HR professionals must demonstrate proficiency.

To apply for SPHR/PHR credit for HR Executive Forum events:

  • Log into your account
  • Enter the event under the Category of Continuing Education.
  • Under Type of Activity choose Conference/Seminars. 

Calculating Credit for Conferences and Seminars:

You earn one recertification credit hour for every hour of concurrent session time, excluding meals and breaks. For example, a 75-minute session equals 1.25 recertification credit hours.

You also earn credit for general sessions if the speech lasts at least one hour and is HR-related. Activities during a meal do not count toward re-certification credits.
The decision to award continuing education credits is at the sole discretion of HRCI.
